I am alive

We had play group at the beach today, and all of the sudden the earth started to move!!! Yes we had an earthquake (5.4), everything is ok it was just a little freaky looking out at all the water wondering if you should pick up your stuff and run as fast as you can.  We decided since the lifeguard seemed pretty relaxed that it was fine, but it got really cold so we left anyway.

So we are fine.

So I was in the garage doing my hair and Jackson comes in and says "mom come here I have a surprise for you!"  So I walk in the room and he had carried a table and chairs into the room and got us some fruit some water and goldfish and said "we were going to have a tea party!!!" How cute is he!!!!

no more training wheels

So we have been trying to teach Jackson to ride his bike without training wheels and there have been a bunch of funny things along the way that i need to report.....

First this is what happened, and yes that is Ben riding Jackson's bike.

Then Grant tried to steal his helmet

Jackson just wanted to play on the hill

And than a miracle happened, after a few days with his training wheels off and numerous times of asking either Ben or I to put them back on he got on and taught himself how to start and ride his bike all on his own.

WAY TO GO JACKSON WE ARE SO VERY PROUD OF YOU!!!!

Swimming and Parade

Golden Gate bridge

This was one of my most favorite parts of San Francisco, Lombard street (The windy street) it was so totally cool and so beautiful!!! If you ever get a chance, find this street!!!

This is the Golden Gate Bridge, it was very foggy as you can see, so these are the best pictures I could get.

Boat ride to Alcatraz Island and Alcatraz prison

So this is our trip in to San Francisco, we had so much fun!!!

This picture is on the boat ride over to Alcatraz Island, Grant loved it and of course Jackson was scared out of his mind.

The picture below is of the jail cells, they are so very tiny, apparently this row of cells were the most preferred because there was windows opposite of them so the inmates could see outside and hear people having parties so they didn't feel so secluded, they said they loved it when they could hear girls talk.
This picture is where they could go to play baseball, they said it didn't matter how cold it got they would always go outside to get away from the cells for a while.
this is the cells they had I think they said they were 5 by 7 by 9 so not very roomy

This is grant talking on the phone (really it was our audio tour but he thought he was pretty special)
this is Jackson at the visiting window

This cell below is called the isolation cell I walked in and It felt so eery and sad.

this is a picture of the morgue... enough said
this is where they would pick up their new clothes for the day

my new do!!!

We have done lots of fun things while we are here in San Jose, but one of the most exciting things is my sis and I cut my hair!!! I will tell you that Khara doesn't have any haircutting experience other than trimming her kids hair, so it was pretty crazy, I would cut some and then she would cut some, it turned out pretty cute I think!!!
